In-Shoe Pressure Analysis
Book an appointmentAdvanced assessment for accurate treatment options and pain relief
If you’re experiencing foot, ankle, knee, or hip pain, the cause may be how pressure moves through your feet when you walk.
What Is Medilogic In-Shoe Pressure Analysis?
Medilogic is a state-of-the-art foot pressure analysis system that measures how pressure is distributed across your feet while you move.
Ultra-thin sensor insoles are placed inside your shoes. As you walk, hundreds of tiny sensors measure:
- Pressure under different parts of your feet
- How your weight shifts with each step
- Whether your feet roll inwards or outwards with each step
- Differences between your left and right foot
- Areas where excessive pressure may cause pain or injury
This data is displayed on specialised software as colour pressure maps and movement patterns, giving your podiatrist a detailed understanding of how your feet function.
Benefits of foot pressure analysis
Patients benefit from this technology because it:
✔ Identifies hidden pressure problems
✔ Helps determine the cause of pain
✔ Improves orthotic accuracy and effectiveness
✔ Provides visual evidence of how your feet function
✔ Helps prevent future injuries and chronic problems
✔ Allows progress to be tracked over time
Who should have this assessment?
Everyone benefits knowing how their feet function in relation to the rest of their body, however our In-Shoe Pressure Analysis is particularly helpful if you:
- Need new or replacement orthotics; see how the loading changes across your feet with orthotics and without orthotics in your shoe
- Have persistent foot pain; conditions like heel pain, plantar fasciitis, arch pain, or forefoot pain often occur due to repeated pressure in specific areas
- Experience knee or hip discomfort when walking; when the feet don’t function properly, the body may compensate higher up the chain, contributing to hip discomfort or imbalance.
- Have recurrent sports injuries; poor foot mechanics can increase the risk of ankle instability and recurrent sprains.
- Want a detailed analysis of your walking mechanics; the body works as a connected system, and correcting foot mechanics can often improve pain in multiple areas.
