Meet The Team
Carly O’Donoghue
Managing Director/Podiatrist
Hi, I’m Carly, founder of Stepping Out Podiatry, which I established over 23 years ago. During this time, I’ve seen podiatry evolve significantly as awareness grows around the vital role podiatrists play in overall health and long-term mobility. With the continued adoption of new technologies and evidence-based treatment approaches in our clinics, I’m confident our patients benefit from faster injury recovery and more accurate diagnosis of foot and lower limb conditions.
Ingrown nail removal is a particular passion of mine, and I take great satisfaction in resolving nail concerns efficiently and with minimal discomfort. I also enjoy designing custom orthotics and collaborating closely with colleagues to fine-tune orthotic solutions that best suit each patient’s individual needs.
I currently serve as a Board Director of Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australasia and am a member of Sports Medicine Australia. Outside of work, I enjoy reading and hiking. Some of my favourite adventures include the 48km Kokoda Challenge, the Three Capes in Tasmania, and New Zealand’s Routeburn Track.
Daniel Neill
Podiatrist
Hi, I’m Dan, and you’ll find me working from both the Landsborough and Kawana clinic locations.
I studied Podiatry at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) before making the move to Cairns, where I spent four years working with a diverse range of patients, from elite athletes to weekend warriors. After that, I relocated to the Sunshine Coast, which I’ve proudly called home for the past two years.
My clinical interests lie in musculoskeletal podiatry, particularly in managing heel pain, Achilles tendinopathies, and other lower limb injuries. I also enjoy performing ingrown toenail procedures and find it rewarding to provide immediate relief for patients dealing with this common issue.
I’m passionate about using up-to-date, evidence-based treatments and enjoy taking the time to explain your condition and the reasoning behind each step of your care. I believe that educating patients is key to achieving the best outcomes.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me on the golf course, usually still searching for my ball or spending quality time with my family and taking our dog for beach walks.
Mia Orford
Podiatrist
Hi I’m Mia, and you can catch me at either the Landsborough or Beerwah clinics locations.
After graduating from Queensland University of Technology, I worked in a few clinics across Brisbane and Caboolture, to land myself at Stepping Out Podiatry, where I fell in love with the Sunshine Coast, the Hinterland community, and the team I work with everyday. I have a post-graduate qualification in Medical Endorsement for Podiatry, which allows me to assist my patients with antibiotics, antinflammatories and pain relief medication.
My passion in Podiatry is providing a holistic approach to treatment, no matter what the foot condition. I pride myself on taking the time to look at how your foot is moving in relation to the rest of your body, to find the exact cause of your pain. Heel pain, achilles tendinopathies, calf strain and knee discomfort are all areas of interest, along with problematic toe nails.
I enjoy providing the most up to date biomechanical treatments to patients, and I am constantly researching and going on external courses to update my skill set and knowledge, to provide the best patient outcomes possible. You will find I will spend the time explaining your condition to you, as I believe health education is very important to improve patient outcomes.
On the weekends I love walking/hiking, renovating my home, and relaxing with a good movie!
Jason Roberts
Podiatrist
Hi, I’m Jason, and I moved to Australia from New Zealand after graduating from Podiatry in 2011. I have worked at Stepping Out Podiatry since 2012, and couldn’t imagine a better work place, as I meet so many interesting people who love a chat just like me!
I work mainly out of the Landsborough clinic, however you will find my at the Kawana location on a Tuesday.
After 14 years of Podiatry, I still love treating both problematic toe nails, as well as complex musculoskeletal conditions. Fractures, abnormal gait patterns, heel pain and Achilles tendinopathies are areas that I have a special interest in treating. I love to get my patients back on their feet, doing the things they love the most, as quickly as possible.
I enjoy catching up with friends on the weekends, going to the zoo with my family, and overall just love living on the Sunshine Coast!
