Toe Socks

Have you considered toe socks?

Socks are such a vital component to anyone who wears shoes, and choosing the right sock can help reduce the occurrence of corns and blisters.  Toe socks are specialised socks that are designed to fit each toe individually.   This separation helps minimise skin irritation that often leads to blisters, especially during activities like running, hiking, or walking.

Blisters form when there is repetitive friction, and by wearing toe socks you can create a smoother interface between your toes and your footwear, thus reducing the chances of blister formation. Additionally, toe socks often have a snug fit, which can help keep the sock in place and prevent bunching that might otherwise lead to pressure points.

Corns, which are thickened areas of skin that develop in response to friction or pressure, can also be mitigated by toe socks. Clawing of toes or bunions, can create rubbing against the inside of the shoe, and toe socks will tend to protect the skin against the friction.

Moisture build up inside shoes is a huge problem when it comes to fungal infections.  Your feet can sweat up to 125ml per foot each day, and wearing socks can absorb this fluid.  Toe socks are particularly beneficial when it comes to sweat, as the socks cover every toe, which leads to less moisture build up in between your toes.
