SPORTS INJURIES

At Stepping Out Podiatry our Podiatrists are experts in treating lower limb soft injuries.

These can include sporting related injuries like:

Rolled and Sprained Ankles

When you injure your ankles the ligaments can become stretched which leaves your foot and leg unstable.

Full assessments are conducted to determine which ligaments are damaged and a full rehabilitation program constructed.

We use our PODOSmart Technology to get a report on how your foot and ankle functions through your gait (walking/running) and to assess any differences between each leg.

Achilles Tendon Injuries

When you injure your Achilles Tendon this leaves you unable to walk!  This painful injury can go on for months if not treated properly.  Excessive loading of this tendon can come about through incorrect footwear, flat feet and knee/hip instability.

Shockwave Therapy is recommended along with a rehabilitation program to get you back to full strength.

We will use our PODOSmart Technology to get a report on how your foot and ankle functions through your gait (walking/running) and to assess any differences between each leg.

Heel pain

This is the most common injury we see in the clinic and is extremely debilitating!

If you wake up in the morning and the first step onto the ground is painful, then try to ice your heel 3 times a day to get the inflammation down.  Footwear can be a major cause of Heel Pain so have a look at your shoes!  Swap your footwear to running shoes and continue icing your heel for 3 days and if your pain isn’t resolved – make an appointment at one of our clinics and we will get you back on your feet.
